Present: Jim Rudbeck, Bill Ramsden, Bill Aldridge, Lou Coggia + Bob Graves
Absent: Dallas Silverthorne
Dockmaster Manager:
· Bob Graves reported that Bruce
Jarvah has taken the Thursdays, which he used to work, and we now have Bill
Sholl for a backup.
· Bob reported that last week the
fire department ran a training exercise on the docks but did not run the
fire cart because the gasoline had seeped into the crankcase due to the
extreme heat and the gas valve not being completely closed. He had Greg
Jordan flush the fire cart twice and it is functioning now.
· Bob will be having a session
with all the dock masters next Wednesday to cover everything including the
starting of the fire cart on the first of each month and making sure the gas
valve on the fire cart is closed after the test.
· Bob will now start on the
Sullivan docks survey since he is no longer on duty.
· Bob reported that the electric
expense is up from last year.
· Bob brought up a question on the
policy for charging for use of the Marina Lounge for a specific group and it
was agreed that we would follow HOA policy. In the current case, we
will hold the charge in abeyance and not change it if the HOA is convinced
that the meetings are open to all Cypress Landing residents as demonstrate
by a community-wide announcement.
Treasurers Report:
· Lou Coggia reported that the
electric is up +$418 thru May or 5% increase over what was budgeted.
Consensus is a little higher cost and a little higher usage, which means
next years budget will be increased. Maintenance is also up due to the
sensor replacement.
· Lou reported our interest income
is running right on budget for this year but will have to be looked at for
next year due to the reduced rates now in effect. Vanguard has dropped to
2.19% as of May will possibly move this into a CD.
Marina Maintenance Committee:
· Lou reported that there are a
few more sensors to be replaced and more inspections will be made next
month, weather permitting.
· Bill Ramsden suggested we do
something on the main walkway to sand, stain and seal so it is all one
color.
· Lou reported that the depth
soundings have been done and recorded. They are now doing the fairways but
no report has been made yet.
· Bill Ramsden reported that Bill
Sholl has made up a manual draft showing the Maintenance Record and
Inspection Procedures for review.
· Bill advised the backsplash in
the Marina Lounge will be tiled and the Yacht Club is paying for the
materials.
Old Business:
· Jim Rudbeck reported on Neil’s
communications with ATM and that it is agreed for the inspection to be done
in November.
· Jim reported on the
communication between Bruce Jarvah and Sullivan who has not responded to
date. Bruce will be following this up shortly.
New Business:
· Jim reported that he received a communication from Tomi Moody;
CAM to attend an Emergency Preparedness Committee meeting tomorrow and Bob
advised we have a Hurricane Manual for the Marina and all will be reading
the manual. Bob and Lou as head on the Marina Maintenance Committee
will also attend.
· Jim will be thinking about the community awards and we have an
idea of a recipient.
· Lou brought up a request for a space for Greg Jordan and we will
try to accommodate him.
Other Business:
· Bill Aldridge brought up the new
website format and all agreed to have the webmaster go ahead with it.
· Bill Aldridge suggested the
board and Bob Graves review the “Slip Use Policy” as currently published on
the web and update it for the new website. Bob will review it.
· We also discuss skipping the
July “Open Forum”.
Meeting closed at 2:45 PM.
