Bay Club Operations Committee
Minutes: January 14, 2009
Those attending: Joe Caporossi; Pat Fitzgerald; Catherine Good; Jeff Gould; Dave Grahek; Mara Graves; Shirley Hanberry; Jerry McGrath; Ron Opello; Marcia Stasch; Dave Walker
Meeting called to order at 7:02pm by chair Mara Graves. The acceptance of the November 2008 minutes moved by Pat Fitzgerald and seconded by Catherine Good.
Introduction of the new members: Joe Caporossi, Shirley Hanberry, Ron Opello, Dave Walker was made by Mara who then gave a brief explanation of the workings of the committee. Each was given a handout and suggested they refer to the policy and procedures in the handbook.
Financial Report:
The 2009 budget was presented and explained. December 2008 financials were not available.
Bar report: December's gross profit was 56% and the purchasing guidelines explained. Discussion followed to give guidance to the new members of the ordering procedures. The bar inventory is due and Dave Walker with Pat Fitzgerald volunteered to do it. The storage of the third beer keg is a problem. Discussion of expanding the closet next to the Washington room resulted in Pat and Joe to investigate that renovation.

Old Business
- Accomplishments of 2008:
- Cleaning of the upper level carpets
- Painting and installation of new carpet in lower level
- New bookcases for the library
- Two kitchen inventories
- Update of tile:
The HOA has approved the restoration of the floor tiles in the upper and lower entry of the Bay Club, bar, and pool house restrooms. - Update on the proposed cabinetry:
Washington room: cabinet proposal has been received from Dave Wheelock. Discussion followed with further suggestions to be taken to Dave.
Chocowinity room: Norm Balintfy is pricing out these cabinets from the given design. - Bar cabinets: Harlan Jaynes has purchased the hardware for the cabinets and will be working on them soon.
- Walk around list reviewed with assignments made for the individual items.
- Sound system report by Jeff stated that PC Sound has been consulted. They have been here and adjusted the system but it still seems to be in a not working state. Mara has consulted with a Cypress resident, Tom Jung, about this system for information. Jeff will consult with Tom to continue the investigation of the system.
- The list of major assets will be distributed by the Finance Committee later this month. A time will be set to inventory the assets as they pertain to the Bay Club.
- Under the capital budget, the Bay Club has a listing of items for the Bay Club new furniture that should be replaced during the next year or so. Discussion followed. It was decided to invite one member each from the social committee, women's club, and yacht club to give suggestions in writing of their needs for next month's meeting.
- Long range planning: A list of the recommendations by the Long Range Planning Committee was given out for the committee to review and evaluate. The BCOC members are encouraged to come up with projects for the Bay Club and relay them to Mara.
- Clean out storage areas: The clubs that use the storage areas of the Bay Club need to take some time to clean out those little or not used items. A notice will be issued soon.
