Bay Club Operations Committee
November 12, 2008
The meeting was called to order by chair Mara Graves. The minutes of the September 10, 2008 meeting were approved.
Financial update: on target
Bar Report/ Issues
a. October gross profit was 60%
b. Discussion of opening for Thanksgiving resulted in continuing the practice to remain closed.
c. The issue of the closing hours was discussed. The motion was made by Doug Smith and seconded by Jerry McGrath to close the bar at nine unless 5 or more RESIDENTS (not guests) are in attendance. Once the attendance is down to 4 residents, the bartender should issue last call with 15 minutes remaining and close.
d. The issue of age limit must be enforced in the bar: age is 21 to be allowed in bar.
e. It is recommended that Tomi remind the bartenders of their responsibility in serving and dealing with an inebriated person.
Old Business:
a. The shelving for the bar has been measured by Harlan Janes. It will be worked on at his own time.
b. A thank you was given to Jeff Gould for giving the report at the annual meeting.
New Business:
a. The results of the November kitchen inventory reveal we are on target with the items.
b. A major asset inventory will be done in January 2009.
c. A list developed from the “walk around” was presented to the committee. Members were assigned items to investigate.
d. The committee recommends the use of the restorative method for the bar and entry tiles. Also, the tiles in the rest rooms need not be renovated at this time.
e. A request for a dolly was received. After a discussion, it is recommended to use the one from the marina.
f. Selection of new committee members resulted in acceptance of Joe Caporossi, Ron Opello, David Walker and Shirley Hanberry as new members. Frank Garrod and Keith Fox will act as advisory members.

Other issues: Culture and Education committee asked to use the bar stools in their Christmas program on December 14. Granted. Also, the bar will open that day at 5:30.
