Charge:
The Art Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors of the
Cypress Landing Homeowners Association. The committee's purpose is to
promote continuing interest in art in Cypress Landing. In order to do this
we would like to pursue activities such as:
1) Purchase original works of art from eastern North Carolina artists
for the continued enhancement and/or beautification of the Cypress Landing
Bay Club and other Cypress Landing facilities. These works of art may
include various media, including paintings, sculpture, pottery, textiles,
stained glass, murals, or display media.
2) Introducing Art Appreciation.
a. "Meet the Artist" - local or resident artist showing his/ her work in
the Bay Club.
b. Artist of the Month - A High School or Middle School pupil displaying
their art work for the month in the Bay Club...
c. Bus trip to Raleigh museum or Sanford Pottery Festival or any other
cultural/arts event the committee chooses. Trip would be open to any
Cypress Landing resident who wishes to attend.
Structure:
The Committee will consist of a number of members who are approved by
the HOA Board of Directors to serve for a two-year term. In order to
preserve continuity, active committee members may be asked to remain on
the committee for an additional term.
The Committee will elect the following officers: Chairperson (s), Co-Chairperson(s),
and Secretary.
The Committee will schedule meetings as needed, with a minimum of four
meetings per year. A Committee member must attend at least three meetings
per year to be considered an active member on the Committee.
Function:
A Chairperson of the Committee (or representative) will attend all
scheduled Committee meetings and the Open Forum monthly meetings of the
HOA Board.
The Chairperson(s) of the Committee will maintain the art file in the
HOA Board committee room, where minutes, correspondence, and other
appropriate information will be stored.
The Committee will submit to the HOA Board an annual budget, prepared
in accordance with the guidelines set forth in the Cypress Landing
Homeowners' Association Budget Preparation and Execution Procedure. Feb.
