of The Four Seasons Chamber Music at ECU.
Illegal Immigration

A Summer Comedy Night
September 9, by popular request, was our third Annual Cypress Landing
Reads. The non-fiction book was “The Worst Hard Time” by Timothy
Egan. The dustbowl period in the 30’s describing families who
stayed behind and survived through tremendous hardship.
Programs planned for the rest of this year are:
September 23 - Brenda Linton from Burnsville, NC. She will infuse her
folk/blues/rock music. Her sophistication is reminiscent of Joni
Mitchell and her newest album “The Secret” shows all her talents as a
singer, guitarist, pianist, writer, and arranger. Paul Leech is her
accompanist and a versatile musician himself. Watch our flyer for
more details.
Two programs planned for October are our familiar Barbershop Quartet and
The Washington Chamber of Commerce. We’ll get an update on route 17
bypass, the economic impact and development, tourism and the Miracle
Mile. Plan to attend this 1.5 hour presentation and hear firsthand
what is happening in our area. There will be four speakers, so have
your questions ready !!
November we look forward to Fred Willard’s recent findings of the “Lost
Colony” on Roanoke Island.
December promises another great Holiday Program, directed by Angela
Silverthorne.
Our committee wants to take this opportunity to thank each member for
their contribution to this successful year
